App Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the The Web Panda mobile app (the “App”) handles the personal information of the people who use it to learn — “members”. It covers the App itself and the platform services run by The Web Panda (“The Web Panda”, “we”, “us”). If you are a business looking to run an academy on our platform, see our main Privacy Policy instead.
1. Who controls your data
The App connects you to a learning academy — the organization whose classes you signed up for. That academy decides what member data it collects and why, so for your learning data the academy is the data controller and The Web Panda acts as a processor: we operate and host the App on the academy’s behalf and on its instructions. Each academy has its own privacy policy, which you can open from the App and from the academy’s website; for questions about your data, contact your academy first.
2. Information the App collects
- Account details — your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Learning activity — the classes you access, lessons you complete, and certificates you earn.
- Support messages — anything you send your academy for help through the App.
- Device and log data — basic technical data such as app version, device and OS type, and timestamps, used to run and secure the App.
The App does not use third-party advertising, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your personal information.
3. Payments
The App does not take payments. When an academy charges for a membership or course, payment is handled on the web by that academy’s payment provider; the App does not collect or store your card details.
4. How the information is used
- to sign you in and give you access to your academy’s classes;
- to record your progress and issue certificates;
- to respond to your support messages;
- to keep the App secure and prevent abuse;
- to meet legal obligations.
5. How the information is shared
Member data is made available to the academy you connect to (its data, as controller) and to the providers that help us run the platform — our cloud/VPS hosting providers and our transactional email provider — under agreements that limit their use of it. Apple and Google receive only what is needed to deliver and run the App. We disclose data to authorities where the law requires it.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its data at any time from Account → Delete my account in the App, or on your academy’s website. See our account deletion page for what is removed and how to delete if you cannot sign in.
7. Retention
Your data is kept while your account is active and afterwards only as long as the law requires (for example, an academy’s financial records for a payment you made). After you delete your account it is removed from our active systems, with backups expiring on a rolling schedule.
8. Your rights
You can view and update your details in the App, delete your account, and opt out of non-essential emails. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under local law (for example India’s DPDP Act or the EU/UK GDPR — owner: confirm which apply to your members). To make a request, contact your academy, or reach us at support@thewebpaanda.com.
9. Children
The App is intended for general audiences; where an academy enrolls members who are minors, that academy is responsible for obtaining any parental consent required. Owner: confirm the minimum age and any children’s-privacy commitments for your app-store listings.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version; for significant changes we will provide notice in the App.
